About Me
A blogger and design student![Based in India] I like my money right where I can see it hanging in my closet. People stare at it; be it a blog or a design; I try making it worth their while. While my heart pumps the blood oozing my soul.

The Prototype is to be inspired through various elements Viz., the counter, the ambiance
of the restaurant itself, CP, the cuisine it carters, the logo, word-hook, color story etc.
As for now here is the mood board along with the color story reason being that the work is still effective.
Crazy! Isn't it? Doing all of it to just create a FLYER... Like seriously? The answer to the mentioned dubiety is a big YES! Well that's a designers task each time they design, it's just like:

A man asking you which year is your Birthday? And you replying EVERY YEAR!

This means that not the saying,
'Never complain, never explain,' is being proved WRONG!

DESIGN STATEMENT

AIM- The design idea of the project is to plan and create an advertisement campaign to promote the restaurant~ The Embassy.
OBJECTIVE- To gain the consumers' interest towards the counter as there is lack of advertisement about it being a part of The Embassy hence results into a growth in sale. It targets multiple age groups and societies.
MILESTONE-  Planning and guesstimating the deadline.
·        Going through various ad campaigns and determining the suitable way to promote it(flyer/pamphlet/ leaflet/ billboard etc.)
·        Sketching, Mood board, Taking inspiration etc.
·        Deciding the dimensions, the basic design and estimate the capital required.
·        Creating a watermark.
·        Going through the technical details(keeping in mind validation and referencing):
§  Color Story(Web safe colors/ CMYK/ RGM etc.)
§  Printing methods
§  Printing Techniques that will be used(embossing/silk lamination/thermography/  letterpress/ die cut/ foil etc.)
§  Type and quality of paper used.
§  Protection of the paper(UV coating etc.)
·        Creating the Prototype.
·        WYSIWYG
·        Testing it in real environment and taking inputs.
·        Refinements and keeping in mind the changes that can be made after the feedback.
CONCEPTThe concept of the whole project is to identify an area/s of opportunity for design intervention and aim to make an amendment through design aspects. The identified area of opportunity for design intervention is The Embassy's Counter which lacks advertisement.

[Area for Design Intervention: The Embassy's Counter
Problem Identified: Lack of  Advertisement]
When you are completely exhausted and
your friends are still not done with their work.

There are approximately 22 areas for intervention ; viz. Bata, Khan Chacha, Social Oden, The Beer Cafe, The Embassy, Hotel Palace Height, Shukla Paan Bhandaar, Uphaar etc.

Well, well, well... It's time to step on the rolling rock and stoop down to find which a single area of intervention would take a lot of time, research and check over the odds of the place.

Each one of us had gone around CP in specific Block-D over 10 times as of now. Every sweat gland in our body has been opened widely now  but as it is said, "THE SWEAT. THE TIME. THE DEVOTION. IT PAYS IT OFF." And so it did I was able to find an area for intervention i.e. The Embassy's Counter.

New Delhi’s Connaught Place is home to the fourth-most expensive office space in the world, ahead of such usual suspects as New York and Tokyo.

The occupancy cost in Connaught Place is Rs.18000 per square foot according to an annual survey released by global real estate service firm Cushman & Wakefield. Renamed Rajiv Chowk after the former Indian prime minister who was assassinated in 1991, Delhi’s central business district houses many banks, media companies and insurance companies, which contribute to the demand for modern office space. (The Reuters Delhi bureau is here too)
Originally named after the Duke of Connaught, the third son of Queen Victoria, the district also enjoys easy access to the Delhi metro. It is also a social leveller, attracting people of all ages and backgrounds from business executives and foreign tourists to college students, middle-class families and drug addicts. They come here for shopping, eating out or just lazing around.
But what do people like me see when they exit the metro? Buildings are hidden behind rows of scaffolding. Bulldozers that invaded the district nearly a decade ago under the pretext of restoration work languish there now.

Tree on each arch.
After talking to the various outlanders a few things that we gain about Connaught Place is one of the largest financial, commercial and business centers in New Delhi, India. This has pervaded in India since the British Raj. This is an example of the beautiful Georgian Architecture

This is a very unique design made with absolute precision.(I got to know about this when we actually started measuring it in footsteps.) I won't be able to tell you the details in the correct unit but in footsteps so to know some interesting facts about CP's architecture wait for the upcoming post.
Exactly that was All of our reaction(my classmates and mine) Well,
that's the life of a pearl student.

The 4th module- Design Process(Research, Analysis & Synthesis) is the next challenge that has been accepted to feel the exhilaration of victory at the end. This module introduces us to the process of design as a sequential approach integrating the learning of the foundation year to apply it to a design situation. This module also follows hybrid learning model using the online modality for sharing knowledge content and recording the progression of design process. The main aim of this module is to create and develop our sensitivity as a designer and then encourage them to take the responsibility in identifying issues faced by society and culture in a macro/micro environment. We as students will use basic research methods for collecting information and then apply design process to formulate potential design proposals and solutions.

In this module you will work in designated groups to encompass a holistic & collaborative learning experience and achieve all the learning outcomes of the module. Our group consisting of Shivi Narula, Tanya Tyagi, Khushboo Vaish, Josephine Lalruatsangi and me viz.  Tapasya Nijhon; has identified and selected a space of intervention i.e. Connaught Place-Block D in consultation with our tutor, which has become the starting point of our work in this module.  We are going on field trips to the selected environments and conducting primary, secondary and tertiary research on that given space.  After the collection, categorization and assimilation of information, you will then be identifying and proposing design opportunities in your selected area of research. We have been conducting analysis of scope of that proposed ‘Design Opportunity’ to convert it into a feasible and suitable ‘Design Solution’.

Yeah! Finally  the module 3 is over and i can relax with no more work!
That was my reaction after my jury but what I forgot was that
module 4 was standing at the door ready to knock through my sleep.

It's 8:10 as per as Indian Standard Time  and I'm heading to go to sleep now for about two hours after successfully completing my project. This journey has been a beautiful and memorable one which is even recorded in my mind along with a documentation. I would sincerely like to thank my teachers for being supportive, friends for being sources of entertainment, various authors, directors etc. and my dearest blog viewers you are the best inspiration who were patient all long... Now I should probably go to sleep before the alarm  wakes me up. Don't forget to come back because #पिक्चर तोह अभी बाकि है मेरे दोस्त !

#The end of the movie is yet to come ;)
